Another successful harvest for Ocean Rainforest

We have just harvested another 415 kg of Saccharina Latissima which has been sustainably cultivated on our macro algae cultivation rig in Funningsfirði in the Faroe Islands. Ocean Rainforest last harvested the species in January 2014. The result from the harvest was very encouraging. This time around there was even more growth on the lines, despite several harvests without re-seeding the lines.

The entire harvest of 415 kg has been shipped to a German natural cosmetics company producing organic skin and beauty products derived from marine resources.
