PhD defence about Faroese Seaweed cultivation

Urd Grandorf Bak, Research Manager at Ocean Rainforest, will on Tuesday May 21, 2019, defend her PhD thesis with the title: “Seaweed cultivation in the Faroe Islands: An investigation of the biochemical composition of selected macroalgal species, optimised seeding technics, and open-ocean cultivation methods from a commercial perspective.”

The Principal supervisor has been Associate Professor Susan Holdt, DTU Food, and Professor Charlotte Jacobsen, DTU Food, has been Co-supervisor. Ólavur Gregersen, CEO of Ocean Rainforest, has been Industrial supervisor.

The examiners will be Professor Lisbeth Truelstrup Hansen, DTU Food, Senior Research Scientist Jorunn Skjermo, SINTEF Ocean, og Stefan Kraan, Director of R&D at Oceana Organic Products and past president of ISAC (International Seaweed Association).

The PhD defence will take place at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) in Lyngby at 2pm on May 21, 2019 - Building 202, Auditorium 8003. There will be a short reception after the defence.
