Ocean Rainforest is partner in the MAB4 project concentrating on macroalgae biorefineries. Macroalgae are a relatively novel raw material in this part of the world. The project will be focusing on the cultivation of macro-algae and the extraction of chemical compounds for the production of feed, food and cosmetics in a sustainable and climate-friendly way. Ocean Rainforest is leader of the work package 'Feasibility and identification of barriers in algae industry'. The MAB4 consortium consists of national and international algae and biorefinery experts from universities, GTS institutes, SMEs as well as industrial end-users.
